Jay the Painter's approach to texture art uses flexible caulk as the primary texture-building medium. Caulk is applied to the canvas in ridges, peaks, and sculpted forms — then allowed to cure fully before paint is added. The result is a painting with genuine physical structure that changes appearance as the light changes.
This technique — known as caulk art — produces texture that is more dramatic, more durable, and more visually striking than impasto or palette knife techniques. It is Jay's signature method and the foundation of every painting he creates.
