Water Lilies at Midday

8" x 10" — Original Painting

$150

Three pink water lilies bloom across this 8"x10" canvas in a composition that feels like looking straight down into a sun-drenched pond at midday — the turquoise water glowing between the lily pads, the green leaves so thick and dimensional that the caulk ridges along their edges cast real shadow into the water below. Each flower is built up petal by petal in raised caulk texture: soft pink layers curling outward from a warm orange-gold center, the white highlights at the tips catching light the way real petals do in full sun. The lily pads are enormous and alive — dark green caulk swirled in broad circular strokes, the edges beaded with tiny caulk dots that look like water droplets clinging to the surface. Small bud clusters float between the pads, each one a tight knot of green caulk texture still waiting to open. The turquoise background is not flat — it too is textured, the caulk strokes suggesting the gentle movement of still water. This is Jay the Painter's caulk art applied to one of the most iconic subjects in Western painting — and the dimensional texture makes it something Monet never could have made. Built by hand in Akron, Ohio. One exists. No prints.
