Poppies

Poppies is a celebration of color and texture. Blue, orange, deep crimson, and golden yellow blooms crowd together at the top of the canvas, each petal built up thick and expressive, catching light from every angle. Long thorny green stems reach down toward the bottom of the painting, with fat unopened buds scattered throughout — the whole thing feels alive, like the flowers are still growing. The soft, warm background lets every color sing. At 14" x 18", this is a statement piece. Jay painted one. There is no second one.
