Firefly Forest at Midnight
8" x 10" — Original Painting
Tall black trees rise like sentinels through a sweeping field of electric blue and deep forest green — and between them, dozens of yellow firefly orbs float at every height, some large and glowing, some scattered like sparks, all of them raised off the canvas in thick caulk texture that catches light the way real fireflies catch the eye on a summer night. The background is all movement: diagonal caulk ridges sweep across the blue-green field like wind through tall grass, giving the whole composition a sense of energy and motion even in stillness. The orange centers of the larger firefly orbs add warmth against the cool blue — tiny points of heat in a midnight forest. This is Jay the Painter's caulk art at its most atmospheric: dimensional texture built up by hand in Akron, Ohio, on an 8"x10" canvas that feels much larger than it measures. One exists. No prints.
